Holistic, Integrative Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

I provide personalized psychiatric evaluation, therapy, and medication management, blending evidence-based care with a holistic, integrative approach. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and specialize in mood disorders, dissociation, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and attachment challenges.

You may be a high-functioning, motivated individual with strong health habits—yet still notice stress, anxiety, or recurring patterns that feel difficult to shift. Whether you are seeking symptom relief, deeper insight, or both, I offer a collaborative and tailored approach to support your well-being.

I invite you to connect to explore your concerns, clarify your treatment goals, and begin a guided journey toward balance, resilience, and lasting change.

More about Betty Anne & EMDR

Do you notice an inner voice that tells you that you are shameful, powerless, unsafe, or a failure? You are not alone—and these patterns can change. Through brain-based therapy, we can work together to gently reshape this self-talk and create space for a more supportive and compassionate inner experience.

This is a collaborative process. Therapy is something we do together, not something done to you. Meaningful change comes from the work we both engage in—within sessions and in your daily life—as we move toward reducing symptoms and helping you live more fully and authentically.

Transformational therapy is not about re-traumatization. You remain in the driver’s seat at all times, with full agency, choice, and control throughout the process. Every aspect of the session—what you share, how deeply you go, and how you navigate emotional discomfort—is guided by your readiness and preferences.

Our work together will be warm, relational, and validating, while also gently honest and direct when needed. We cannot heal what we do not acknowledge; however, this does not mean revisiting every detail of painful experiences. Instead, we focus on safely accessing and processing aspects of distressing memories in a way that supports your nervous system.

The goal is not to erase the past, but to lessen its emotional intensity. Over time, memories may remain, but their charge can soften or resolve, allowing you to feel more grounded and at ease. While no outcome can be guaranteed, this process offers a meaningful opportunity to feel understood, supported, and more at home in your own body.

TELEHEALTH- NEW JERSEY

Therapy doesn’t have to require a commute, time off work, or added stress to your day. Telehealth allows you to engage in meaningful, focused work from the privacy and comfort of your own space—whether at home or another setting where you feel most at ease.

For many clients, this level of comfort enhances the therapeutic process. Being in a familiar environment can support a greater sense of safety, allowing for deeper access to thoughts, emotions, and body-based experiences.

Telehealth also offers a level of flexibility that traditional in-person appointments often cannot. Extended sessions can be scheduled more seamlessly, without the interruptions of travel or time constraints—making it especially well-suited for EMDR Intensives.

This format is not a compromise in care. It is a thoughtful, effective, and research-supported way to receive high-quality, personalized treatment with greater ease and discretion.

Clients often find that engaging in EMDR therapy via telehealth allows for a more personalized and restorative experience. Participating from the comfort of home provides the opportunity to decompress privately after sessions, without the disruption of travel.

Many clients intentionally prepare their environment to support the therapeutic process—incorporating elements such as comfortable seating, soft lighting, calming music or sound, and soothing rituals like a warm beverage or quiet reflection. This thoughtful preparation can enhance a sense of safety, grounding, and ease.

For many, telehealth creates a “soft place to land” following deeper therapeutic work, supporting integration and promoting a more regulated, calm nervous system.

TELEHEALTH DESIGNED FOR YOUR COMFORT

Choosing the Right EMDR Therapist

Selecting an EMDR therapist is a meaningful decision. It is important to work with a clinician who has completed EMDR-approved training, and ideally holds EMDRIA certification, reflecting advanced expertise and a commitment to the highest standards of care.

Beyond credentials, the therapeutic relationship is essential. Feeling comfortable, understood, and supported creates the foundation for effective and lasting work. You deserve a space that feels both safe and thoughtfully attuned to your needs.

Many clients begin their search through the EMDRIA “Find a Therapist” directory to identify qualified providers.

EMDR therapy offers a structured, evidence-based approach to healing, delivered at a pace that respects your readiness. With the right support, this work can lead to meaningful, lasting change and a greater sense of ease and clarity in your daily life.

EMDR INTENSIVES are gaining in popularity due to the convenience and efficacy of extended, focused time in session. See what an EMDR INTENSIVE can do for you!

EMDR Intensive via Telehealth

Focused Therapy—In the Comfort of Your Space

The individualized EMDR Intensive is a program of individualized treatment - a carefully curated curriculum that offers the depth of 7–12 weeks of therapy in a condensed, private, telehealth format. Designed for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and lingering patterns from early experiences, it can help your nervous system calm, reduce reactivity, and restore a sense of ease.

Learn How an EMDR Intensive Can Support You

EXTENDED TIME FOR FOCUSED HEALING

Are you feeling burnt out, stuck, or like you’re running on empty? Perhaps you’ve tried therapy, medication, or different approaches, yet still find yourself without lasting relief—unsure how to move forward.

The brain has a natural ability to process and integrate experiences. However, trauma or adverse experiences can disrupt this process, leaving memories “stuck” and contributing to emotional reactivity, triggers, and distress in the body. EMDR can be a powerful part of a therapeutic plan, helping to target and process the underlying blocks that may be holding you back.

Healing is possible. Sometimes, it simply requires the right approach and the support of a clinician trained in specialized methods. With the right guidance, your mind and nervous system can learn to process and release distress—allowing you to feel more grounded, regulated, and “unstuck.”

EMDR Extended Individualized Curriculum offers a focused, research-supported approach to healing at a nervous system level. This intensive format provides dedicated time and space to address your unique needs, allowing for deeper processing and integration without the interruptions of weekly sessions.

Equivalent to several weeks of therapy, this approach offers continuity, depth, and efficiency. Clients often find it not only effective, but also meaningful—supporting a strong therapeutic connection and a greater sense of safety throughout the process.

Sessions can be scheduled as a full day or across multiple days, depending on your needs and availability.

EMDR CONSULTATION

CONCEPTUAL APPROACH AND PHILOSOPHICAL STATEMENT

My approach to working with consultees is grounded in creating a safe, collaborative environment that supports meaningful learning. I recognize that, particularly when we are new to EMDR, the process can bring forward a natural sense of vulnerability. With this in mind, I strive to foster a respectful and supportive space where learners feel encouraged to ask thoughtful questions and engage deeply with the material.

I aim to challenge consultees in ways that make the learning both relevant and impactful, while maintaining a strong sense of psychological safety. My intention is to support not only the development of clinical skill, but also growing confidence, curiosity, and professional identity.

Above all, I believe it is essential to practice with fidelity to the EMDR conceptual model as originally developed by Francine Shapiro. While EMDR often opens the door to a rich exploration of complementary approaches—such as Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal Theory, Ego State work, Internal Family Systems, and EMDR 2.0—I hold that these perspectives are most effective when thoughtfully integrated in service of the core model.

In my experience, these modalities can deepen and enhance our work, offering valuable nuance and flexibility. At the same time, I approach their integration with clear intention and discernment, maintaining a strong allegiance to the foundational principles of EMDR. This balance allows for both clinical creativity and integrity, ultimately supporting more grounded and effective outcomes for our clients.

At the heart of my work is a deep appreciation for the transformative potential of EMDR—both for us as clinicians and for those we serve. I seek to share and cultivate that sense of possibility, inviting consultees to connect with the energy, purpose, and meaning that make this work so impactful.
