BETTY ANNE

Betty Anne Nixon, MSN, RN, APN-C, CSN, FN-CSA, PMHNP-BC, EMDR-C, CIT, brings more than 33 years of nursing experience to her work, including over a decade dedicated to the evaluation and management of psychiatric mental health care for individuals, families, and groups. She completed her initial training in EMDR therapy in 2018, and it quickly became the cornerstone of her clinical approach. In 2022, she achieved EMDR certification and is currently pursuing credentialing as an EMDR therapy consultant.

Betty Anne is the owner of a private practice and a teaching and consultation business based in Central New Jersey. She specializes in working with adults experiencing trauma, treatment-resistant depression and anxiety, and PTSD. Viewing psychological distress through a trauma-informed lens, she integrates EMDR therapy with complementary modalities, including Internal Family Systems, to effectively address complex trauma and dissociation.

She earned her Master’s degree in School Nursing in 2009 and has more than 25 years of experience as a school nurse in both special education and psychiatric settings. In these roles, she served as a dedicated and effective advocate for her students and clients.

In 2008, Betty Anne obtained her Forensic Nurse–Certified Sexual Assault credential and went on to serve as a key member of the forensic team with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office for seven years.

Betty Anne began her nursing career in 1993 and has since gained experience across a wide range of clinical settings, including medical-surgical units, postpartum and mother-baby care, community health and home care, and psychiatric treatment centers.

Her extensive and diverse professional background enriches her therapeutic work, allowing her to approach each client with a deeply individualized perspective. By drawing on both her professional expertise and lived experience, Betty Anne fosters a therapeutic environment that supports meaningful, lasting healing and change.
